The remaining premiums are not relevant if the customer disposes of the insured asset or attains a replacement insurance policy. It usually takes 2 to 4 weeks to process a policy that gets cancelled. The customer must submit a Notice of Cancellation Endorsement which is processed by the insurance carrier. The insured has a duty to report any changes that occur to the property during the policy term as per the insurance agreement. Renovation to the property is a change that must be reported.
